Great place for a fancy dinner.

We went into the Rugby Grille for a post dinner drink. It was sad that there were not any patrons in the establishment and the bar area was lacking in people or a fun and enjoyable crowd. During our time at the Rugby Grille the manager said that everyone needed to be more quiet and just enjoy being there. Since there were very limited patrons it was quite humorous that they didn’t want people having fun and enjoying some libations at the bar. We left and went to many of the other establishments in the Birmingham area. If you do not want to have any fun, visit the Rugby Grille. We will never go back and recommend to our friends in Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills to never go again.

This spot is fantastic! Fair prices, big portions and the employees are regularly super friendly.

Quality food, exceptional service, and great venue. The culinary experience is fantastic. We enjoy our time whether it's dinner or Sunday brunch. I highly recommend it.

I admire this restaurant! They offer splendid meals, their menu is varied, The chef in that spot is very trained, I enjoy very much tasting all their food. The dishes are consistently good, the attitude towards the customers is very good too. I often go to this place and I was never discontended. I highly recommend it.

This place is amazing. Jerome assisted me with planning a surprise date night, he made sure to include rose pedals on the table, a card with a personal message, and a cake. Alex was the best! He came with great suggestions as far as our meal and what beverages were appropriate to perfect the taste. The food... omg the food. We are still raving about how amazing the food was. This place is great for business meals and/or dates.

Food is good. The service is top notch. A little pricey for what it is, but it is downtown Birmingham so... We ate on the patio which was fine except all of the stereotypical downtown Birmingham look at me look at me going on.

What can I say about the Rugby Grill? The best of the best... And our waiter loved my shoes. Bonus points! It's one of our go-to places.

Lovely afternoon tea. The staff, from the doormen, to the manager, to the wait staff, were wonderful. With a beautiful room and great food, couldn't ask for a better experience.

Went here for the first time last night. Celebrated birthday for myself & boyfriend. A family member called the restaurant from Connecticut and within minutes it was all set up. We had a nice table with rose petals & a card from the staff on it when we arrived. They have an extensive wine list. The food was first class. My boyfriends steak was cooked perfectly! And he says the walleye chowder was the best soup he’s ever had! My chicken was very moist and tender. The brussel sprouts with apple/bacon were yummy. Then we were surprised with a little chocolate cake & ice cream to finish out our night. Our waiter was Anthony. He was knowledgeable and very attentive.

This place is nestled inside a wonderful hotel. Chef Paul was magnificent! It was my wife and i's first time there and he and the entire staff made our dining experience exquisite. Every course was timely and delicious. Tony our waiter was more than we could have ever asked, we will definitely be returning.

Small space carved out in the Townsend Hotel. However, some of the most wonderful food and service found anywhere. Everything on their menu is delicious. Every server is beyond accommodating. If you're in Birmingham, aren't shy with prices, and are looking for a top class meal, look no further. I highly recommend this restaurant, as well as the Townsend hotel as a whole. Put this on your destination list if you're a foodie, going on a fancy date, or looking for a nice business meal.

Had a great experience in this spot with my kids. The food came quickly and the service is just good. Prices are affordable.

The food was okay but in regards to the service it was one of my worst experience ever. Food was supper late, people were so rude and it was very unpleasant sitting in such bad atmosphere like that. I would never go there again

Happy hour salad is very tasty and a great portion. Apricot hearts, compliments of Chuck the bartender!

The atmosphere is great and the staff gets to know you. The food is steakhouse gourmet quality. I go frequently. Great place to entertain

For the price to quality, 3 stars all day. You can spend a lot less and get a much better meal elsewhere around town. Also, having to wait 40 mins for a table that you had reservations for, not a selling point. I had the Americane, wasn't blown away and it was hardly any food. Two shrimp and 2 scallops for $60 was pretty disappointing.

I come here about once or twice a year for a celebration dinner or lunch. The food is amazing and the service is out of this world. The drinks are fairly priced for the area as well. One of my favorites is the $55 burger. It's ridiculous but if you want to go all out for a special occasion then it's perfect.
